According to the legend, the Carretero de la Muerte is that individual who, having died at the last second of December 31, has the mission of traveling the world collecting -in his silent wagon- the souls of all those beings who die during the 12 months of the year.
The Carretero de la Muerte stops walking momentarily, on November 1 and 2. Due to an old pagan-religious tradition they are holidays: the cult of the dead is present.
