The Wagon of Death was transmitted by word of mouth throughout Oaxaca and the night owls avoided the course, the people went into their homes early with the doors locked devoting themselves to their prayers, and it is said that the chaplain of the convent tried to conjure, organizing a procession every Friday carrying an image of Jesus Christ to a hermitage that was exactly at number 8 of today's Morelos Avenue, crossing the dark alley where it was said that terror appeared.
Not even the processions and prayers managed to stop that macabre vision from appearing; the risky ones crossed bets and many suffered fainting and frights, which caused more than one to go to the grave.
